Rorochan's story is truly heart-wrenching. There's so much more beneath the surface than what meets the eye. It might seem as if she was just seeking attention or trying to become an internet legend, but I believe there were deeper issues at play. From a video that covered her story, she talked about feeling ignored at home and bullied at school. Can you imagine what that must've been like for her? The internet probably felt like her only escape, her safe haven. Yet, it likely also fed into her insecurities and loneliness.
Her parents tried to step in by taking away her phone and computer at times. But it seems like it wasn't enough to address the root of her emotional struggles. Instead, it would seem as if they “took away her only safe haven” in her eyes. If only they knew how to better address it. It's really messed up to think that someone so young felt so alone that they saw no other way out. The internet can be such a double-edged sword, especially for kids like Rorochan who need more support offline too.
Rorochan's story to me is a wake-up call about the importance of mental health support, both online and off. We have to do better for each other. In cases like Rorochan's, it's important to approach with empathy and understanding, recognizing the complex interplay of factors that may have contributed to her struggles. I saw harmful comments regarding her and the situation, and others who seemed to fully understand. Behind the sensationalism and tragic events lies a young person grappling with profound loneliness, trauma, and a desperate search for validation and connection.
I didn’t watch the whole video of her follow through with the act, knowing the details was already painful for me. I did hear her shaky breathing which just proves, internally, she was crying out for genuine help. Rorochan's journey highlights the potential risks and pitfalls of excessive internet use, particularly for vulnerable individuals facing challenges in their offline lives. Instead of perpetuating harmful commentary or sensationalizing Rorochan's story, we should use this opportunity to raise awareness about the complexities of mental health, the impact of online interactions on vulnerable individuals, and the necessity for compassionate support systems.

There’s a lot of people calling her a slu*t and saying she’s stupid. I wish to address that and provide some information on any questions I’ve been seeing.
Roro was 14. She was not a slu*t. She was not an idiot. She was not stupid.
She was gullible.
Roro was live-streaming her death. People were telling her to kill herself. People were telling a child to take their own life. They were saying it’d make her dreams come true. Don’t be mad at her for acting on it. Be mad at the people that were asking a literal child to kill herself.
For those with any questions, I’ll provide the best information I can here. But I do ask of you to do your own research. There are plenty of articles and video essays on this, there’s even a Reddit post that does explain quite a bit. I would recommend checking those sources out.i may end up commenting here some more if I can. I’m sorry if something doesn’t make sense, I’m quite literally shaking and in school at the moment. Yes I did my assignment already, no I’m not stupid, I have a 4.0GPA.
Rorochan_1999 was a 14yr old girl who took her life on stream. Her aspiration was to become internet famous. I do not know if her real name was released. Due to her being a minor, it will add difficulty researching her. As far as I’m aware, the videos here on this archive are the only remaining videos of her. She never revealed her face or name. Some sources say she was bullied at school. She played piano, and would frequently livestream home performances. No one is sure of what she looked like either since she hid her face. She played with her life frequently on stream because she believed that’s what would make her famous.
As you know, she took her life on stream. Please keep in mind that there were people asking her to. There were people begging her to. There were people telling a child to kill herself. Children are gullible. Do not blame her entirely. Please do not joke about her death, it is extremely disrespectful. Please do not say she deserved it because suicide is a ‘sin’ not everyone has the same faith as you. We are not sure what roro’s religion even was.

As an ex-gachatuber, I cannot believe what my past community has become since Roro died.
Ever since Roro commited self die (Ik its called suicide but whatever), the gacha community has been, and I quote, "making fun of it". Like, seriously? Roro died and the community is making videos like "Ohh I r@p3d Roro" "Roro is my best friend and to celebrate that we'll dance together" and bullsh*t like that.
To explain it briefly, people from the gacha community have been using Roro's death to get clout. My opinion as a retired gachatuber is that these things are downright disgusting and I cannot believe it.

don't know what to call this, but just listen from 2:38-2:53 (basically the whole fall). timestamps provided for each sound im talking about. take a sec to read and tell me if im crazy!!!
- after the footsteps & wind at 2:45, there's this loud slam. does anybody know what that is? this is what i've deduced:
1) her stepping off of the trash can, causing it to tip over, or deliberately kicking it away (which eliminates the possibility of her falling onto another platform, but instead may have just been a halt before she continued to push herself off, so this means her descent was uninterrupted)
2) her kicking her shoes onto the trash can before falling? this is pretty common in suicides by jumping, at least in japan.. (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BarefootSuicide some more info on that with photographic & written examples from games, shows etc. safe for work, doesn't show any actual suicides). i think this could be a possibility because the woman that found her didn't specify explicitly, but she did only refer to one of her shoes. 3) she falls onto another platform/balcony, or at least its edge, before actually falling. here's some justification to back this one; brings me to my 2nd point as well:
- at 2:47, she does this weird grunt thing. sounds like she gets the wind knocked out of her. some things i think could be possibilities YES some are stupid but im just trying to look at it in every possible way:
1) she fell onto something (probably with her chest?) before actually falling, knocking the wind out of her, and then she proceeded to jump or maybe slipped off?
2) a pained noise from the impact. there is a halt in big movement for just a moment so i think this is the most logical explanation
3) assuming she has hurt herself, she struggles to push herself off and continue falling and grunts as she tries to take off of whatever platform she's landed on (the time it takes for her to make the noise in comparison to when the video continues makes this pretty impossible though)
4) could be a reaction to the cardiopulmonary edema? (https://sites.google.com/view/roro-info/news-articlesblogs/asagei-1?authuser=0 where i got the info that she had cardiopulmonary edema) cardiopulmonary edema is caused by increased pressure in the heart. increased pressure in the heart is caused by unhealthy lifestyle but ALSO stress. falling to your death is most definitely a stressful situation and this could be the phenomenon of 'being dead before you hit the ground' when people sometimes die from high falls before they actually make impact due to asphyxiation or heart attacks. so maybe that was her making a noise because she felt something was wrong with her heart? i dont think it was a scream or sound of fear like some articles have said. just doesnt sound like shes afraid of anything
4a) cardiopulmonary edema is also when fluid catches in the lungs, and from what i've gathered, it's a condition you can be born with. if she had a pre-existing heart condition then it's very likely she could have been faint-hearted and that would increase the likelihood of her fainting or her heart stopping before she hit the ground. she was warm when she was found so im not sure. just trying to look at every possibility. she did constantly breathe very hard & panted very hard (even seen in this footage) but i think thats just how she is because she can sing and speak just fine
5) it could have been her exclaiming because she dropped her phone unintentionally? from what i can see i dont think that the phone came all the way down to the ground floor with her, as im assuming the crash at 2:49ish is the sound of her death, and the phone is still before that despite her most definitely still being in the air
- at 2:49, this is the final crash, and it's the sound of her finally hitting the spot where she'll later be found
so this is what i think:
- 2:45: she pushes away the trashcan, stills for a moment and then continues her descend
- 2:47: she grunts out as she pushes herself off, or either because she drops her phone
- 2:49: crash from her hitting the ground in the spot that her body is later discovered at
hopefully this doesn't come off as disrespectful. rorochans whole case is just so intriguing and im glad we have the internet to archive all of this information on her story. im just the type to need an explanation for everything, and i like looking at every possibility to a situation. i hope that this whole spiel makes sense because my thoughts very often tend to wander TT
it's crazy to think that so much can happen- or that a life can leave us- in just under fifteen or so seconds. in conclusion, i'm just really really curious. does anybody know what these sounds were? i've watched this like a bazillion times and i cant put a finger on it.. thankya^.^*

J'ai connu la souffrance depuis la petite enfance. Violence de la part du Père, violence de la part de certains oncles, harcèlement scolaire extrêmement violent et harcèlement dans la rue par les mêmes personnes qui me harcelait à l'école. J'avais droit à des passages à tabac et du racket un jour sur deux, parfois à 8 contre 1, je subissais des humiliations terribles. De la part de ces gens et même parfois de mon père. Je n'avais personne à qui en parler, j'étais seul avec moi-même. J'ai grandi comme ça dans la haine la violence et la solitude, résistant aux coups venant de toute part. Combien de fois moi aussi n'ai-je pas pensé à sauter ! Et même 23 ans après, les blessures sont encore là et cette envie d'en finir me traverse encore l'esprit. J'aurais voulu que tu aies la même force que moi RoroChan. J'aurais voulu que tu puisses lutter. Tu méritais de vivre bien plus que certains monstres qui vivent parmi nous. I just heard about Roro-Chan’s horrific bullying, and her unfortunate suicide. This is absolutely tragic. This beautiful child was encouraged, by some truly malevolent individuals, to commit suicide, and they WILL have to answer for that when it comes time for them to meet their maker.
What in the hell is wrong with some people? A couple comments on here are truly, truly despicable! She was someone’s daughter, someone’s sister, someone’s niece, someone’s cousin, and someone’s granddaughter, and some ignorant asswipes come on here, saying some astronomically DISGUSTING and DISRESPECTFUL things about her.
I really, really hope and pray that, those on here that said some incredibly disrespectful and disgusting things about her, do not ever have to go through that type of pain that her poor parents, other family members and her TRUE friends went through, because it’s the most sorrowful thing to go through.
Japan, and many other Asian countries, really need to start taking their citizens mental health a lot more serious than they do now. In Japan, and many other Asian countries, stigmatized mental illness as taboo, and they’d rather brush it under the rug instead of tackling the problem. No person should EVER be shunned, looked down upon, disowned or whatever the case may be when a family member or friend, who’s suffering greatly — mostly in silence, has a mental illness. No person should EVER speak in the manner that a couple of truly ignorant people have done, on here, when someone takes their own life; that shows just how terrible they were raised, and shame on their parents for raising them like this.
May Roro-Chan rest peacefully in her eternal slumber, and may God continue to give her family and friends strength.
