I've been trying to deploy a webconnector to quickbooks premier plus 2021 with webconnector 2.3R000036 on a machine that has the server and client on it and getting the error in the title. After troubleshooting for hours I finally removed both the server and client and just reinstalled the server and the problem went away with webconnector yaay. But this quickbook file needs to be accessible from multiple users and I need this webconnector to run on this machine with the server and the client unfortunately since they don't have another machine and we remote in and do stuff with the webconnector. Is there another way to run the server and client on the machine and not cause this error? Do I really need the server to use multi-user mode?

Webconnector QBWC1013 error connecting to Quickbooks

Hey there, @adamabel1.

It's great to see a new face here in the Community. Allow me to provide you with some helpful information.

You don't have to have a server to run multi-user mode. However, you'll need to have a host customer (where the file is stored). As long as it's set up correctly on a client computer, then you shouldn't have any issues.

Moreover, there are some scenarios that can causefor the QuickBooks multi-user mode to not work. The following are some reasons behind it:

  • The hosting settings aren't properly configured.
  • Firewall or antivirus software is not allowing communication between user computers.
  • The database server is unable to open the company file.

You’ll want to make sure that theQuickBooks Database Serveris installed on your server computer. Install the same version of the Server Manager as is the QuickBooks version you are using. This way, your company files will be shared with other computers over your network.

Once done, perform the QuickBooks Multi-User Setup solution stepwise. Tofix the mode working error, firstly you need to set hosting to local files by following these steps:

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. PressF2to open and come on the product info.
  3. There’s local server information. Check and ensure that hosting is for local files.

After, you'll need to restart QuickBooks Database Server Manager. Thenscan your folderusing it to access your file over the network.

You might want to read this handy article that containsavailable features and tasks that can be performed in a single or multi-user modein QuickBooks Desktop.

I've got your back if there's anything else I can help with QuickBooks. I want to make sure you're all set. Keep safe!

So I'm confused. In the beginning of your reply you say you dont need server but then talk about the database server and how you need it. So which is it?

Do I need the database server installed so the company file can be used by multiple users at teh same time or not?

Thank you for getting back to us here on the Community page,adamabel1.

Allow me to share insight on how to fix the errorQBWC1013 error connecting to Quickbooks

This problem is typically caused when QuickBooks Web Connector doesn't have permission to open QuickBooks. To fix, delete the connection in Web Connector then recreate it.

Note: Make sure QuickBooks is in a Single User Mode. You logged into QuickBooks as an Admin User. TheAdmin user has a password since the Web connector will not work properly if the Admin user has no password.

You can check out this article to learn how to set up QuickBooks Web Connector and to avoid errors after installing:Set up QuickBooks Web Connector.

In case you need some related articles in managing your multi-user network, here's an article you can read for more insights:Hosting your company data in multi-user mode in QuickBooks Desktop.

So that is most definitely now the fix for this problem.

1. I was doing exactly that and still got the error.

2. All other QBWC1013 troubleshooting i could find online was not helpful.

3. the logging on this problem is terrible. Can't open quickbooks is fine for the error but there is no reason as to why listed. Intuit needs to log more information to determine why. I only stumbled onto the solution because I ran out of things to try.

Let me help fix the error 1013 while using the Web connector in QuickBooks Desktop,miles2321.

QuickBooks Error 1013 arises due to connection issues with your bank. Aside from that, here are also possible reasons:

  • Any unacknowledged improvements or changes in administrative offerings, Web connect or Direct connect.
  • There might be an Inactive Bank Account entitled for QuickBooks Online Banking.
  • The servers are down or poor internet connection can also result in an error.
  • Issues with the records in your company document.

To fix this, you can perform these troubleshooting solutions I've outlined below:

  • Ensure that your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest version.
  • You have a proper internet connection and able to access websites without any hassle.
  • Log in to your online banking just to make sure that the credentials are correct.
  • Update Internet Explorer and set it as a default browser.
  • Verify that you are using QuickBooks in single-user mode.

For other solutions, please use this article:Fix OL and OLSU Bank Feeds errors in QuickBooks Desktop. It provides instructionsto fix connectivity issues and how to bring your bank transactions to QuickBooks.

Stay in touch with me if there's anything else I can help you with the online banking issues. I'll be right here whenever you need additional information about the error.

Thanks for joining this conversation, @TM137.

May I know what specific bank you've connected to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT)? Any additional information will be much appreciated.

The information shared by my colleague MaryLandT can fix the QuickBooks Error 1013 even if you're using Direct connect. If it's not working, let's perform other troubleshooting steps.

To get started, let's enable TLS 1.2 Security Protocol if available. Here's how:

  1. OpenInternet Explorer 11and make sure you have thelatest versioninstalled.
  2. Go to theGearicon on the upper right section of IEto get to theInternet Options.
  3. Choose theAdvancedtab, then scroll down to theSecuritysection.
  4. Uncheck theUSE TLS 1.0and place a checkmark onUSE TLS 1.2.
  5. ClickApply, then chooseOK.
  6. Close all open programs, then restart the computer.

Once done, open QBDT and try todownloadthe bank activity again to double-check. If the same thing happens, consider checking out this article and proceed to steps2to6for more troubleshooting steps:Fix OL and OLSU Bank Feed errors in QuickBooks Desktop.

If you're still getting the same error even after following all the recommended steps, please reach out to the Technical Support Team. They can take a closer look at the error that you're getting and help you further with this. Here's how:

  1. Go to theHelpmenu and selectQuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. ClickContact Us.
  3. Let them know that you're getting an OLSU error in your Bank Feeds Center.
  4. ClickContinue, then clickStart Messaging.

Once you're all set, you might want to check out these resources for guidance. These can guide you on how to categorize and reconcile your accounts flawlessly:

  • Add and match Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop
  • Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop

Please update me on how it goes on your end, @TM137. If you have other concerns, feel free to click theReplybutton. I'm always here to help. Have a good day!

I struggled with this forever and I think I have a solution. I believe using the troubleshoot button (top right next to view log button, follow the directions to download the troubleshoot app, add it, and run it. I believe this troubleshooter must flag something in the system and everything auto fixed in about 20 minutes. I believe a developer or some automation fixed the server side code and eventually the soap calls worked.

There is literally no other explanation as I could not even remove the application. And it would fail over and over until I ran that troubleshooter. I allowed the troubleshooter to only run when the company file was open. When it prompts you for the password, enter "password" and let it save it. I ran it a few times because it initially did not fix it, but like I said, maybe 15-20 minutes later, everything worked.
